General description |
The course gives basic knowledge of and practical skills in the most important activities of operating systems administration. It deals with user, file system, process and software administration, setting permissions, device configuration, setting up disks, operating system installation and controlling booting process, managing backup and recovery, security problems and configuring some network services. The course is primarily oriented to Unix-like and Windows systems. Students have hands-on experience with several administration tasks in Linux and Windows 2000 systems in practical classes. |
